The best way to start the morning of Chrissie Eve, Tad Watroba’s Christmas party!

Execs and long term staff members from HPPL, Hancock Iron Ore, Hancock Energy and Hanroy gathered at Tad and family’s home.

Spoilt with Tad’s wines, a variety of Kidman pies, of course, delish Kidman burgers, and fish and chips. Singing Chrissie carols together from a Rod Stewart Chrissie album into the early hours, plus some surprisingly energetic dancing.

Moving speech from a member of the Watroba family is attached, and finally, in the early hours of the morning of Chrissie Eve, the last guests departed.

Ending a wonderfully warm and very happy Chrissie party, after another busy, hardworking year.

The Speech:

As a woman engineer who worked for Western Mining, BHP Engineering, BHP Nickel West, Fluor, Bechtel and Westinghouse, I’ve seen lots of projects. I’ve been working with predominantly men.

I can tell you what happened with Roy Hill / Hancock, was possible because it was run by a woman.

As Tad said to me once, Gina said “It’s possible.”

It is possible. Even if you think it’s not possible. It’s possible.

That’s the woman heart.

That’s the woman belief.

Honestly, that’s what I told my daughters.

Don’t trust anybody who tells you it cannot be done.

It can be done if it’s in your heart, if it’s in your head, if you want it to be done.

Mrs Gina Rinehart, that’s what she has done. All hats off to you.

I am so proud of you as a woman. You know, saying so many things.

I’ve seen so many projects, so many projects.

I want to talk about what BHP was saying.

“Oh OK, Hancock want to do this and this, whatever. Yeah sure…”

It’s been done.

Hancock Energy is a Hancock Prospecting company.
