The rain didn’t deter guests at this fundraiser for Parkerville Children and Youth Care from turning out, and donating more than $400,000.

Supported by Gina Rinehart and her companies, the event at Fraser’s raised funds for Parkerville Grove School, being built in the Perth Hills for children whose trauma makes mainstream school impossible.

Speaking after the gala, themed There’s No Place Like Home (Wizard Of Oz), Parkerville’s Kim Brooklyn said:

“The spirit of giving is not just alive in Western Australia — it’s thriving, and it’s making a tangible difference in the lives of young people who desperately need to know their
community believes in them.”
