In light of the ABC’s refusal to apologise for a Race Around the World skit that advocated shoving a “stick right up Gina Rinehart’s butt hole” and “mixing her guts up nice and smooth”, legendary broadcaster Ray Hadley has called on ABC managing director Hugh Marks to “put down his martini” and rein in his insolent staff.
Hadley wonders how ABC chairman Kim Williams would react if he were the target of such a disgusting sketch and predicts Marks would “leave the cocktail party early” in a state of panic to make sure the hitjob on his boss didn’t go to air.
Hadley asks how it is that a bloated organisation such as the ABC – funded to the tune of an eye-watering $1.3 billion and overstaffed to the gills – is so out of touch with ordinary Australian values and basic common decency that it happily let such a vile piece of television hit our screens.
