About Electric Vehicles

About Electric Vehicles, from the Norway newspaper:

Karin Johnsen (49) from Tana was glad that she had put on woolen underwear before boarding the Snelandia bus.

It was minus 26 degrees outside. Inside the bus it wasn’t much better.

– I traveled from Høybuktmoen and was going to Tana. When we got on board and had sat down, we were told by the driver that it was minus -15 degrees inside the bus. He said it was minus 19 degrees in the bus when he started from the church in Kirkenes, says Johnsen about the bus trip on January 2 this year.

When several of the passengers on the bus reacted, the bus driver said that they had to complain to the company.

– Were there many passengers on the bus?

– Yes, there were quite a few. There was also a child on the bus. The mother contacted the driver along the way and said that the child was freezing and asked what could be done. The driver replied that she had to call Snelandia.

Why do you think it is serious?

– It is not allowed to carry out a bus trip with passengers when it is -15 degrees Celsius inside the bus. There is a risk of hypothermia, at least mild hypothermia, and children can tolerate it much less than adults and the elderly. This is about health and safety.

– What kind of bus was this, and did you get any explanation for why it was so cold?

– It was an electric bus.
