Today, teams from Hancock Prospecting, HanRoy, and Hancock Energy came together for our annual Christmas celebration. A chance to acknowledge another year of hard work and achievement as part of Australiaβs most successful private company.
The gathering was filled with energy and enthusiasm as staff from every part of the organisation joined in the Texas-themed festivities. Our Executive Chairman Mrs Gina Rinehart, together with Hancock executives, joined the celebration and warmly thanked everyone for their efforts throughout 2025.
During her speech, Mrs Rinehart remarked:
“Last night we celebrated up at Roy, the first shipment of Roy ore leaving Port Hedland on 10th December 2015. And 10 years ago, that first ore would have left the long shipping channel on its way to our fantastic partners in South Korea.
As Iβve said many times before, we first had to over years, get through more than 4,000 government regulations and permits, that was pre-construction, even more for construction.
But that was more than 10 years ago, if we ask ourselves with even more government regulations today, and policies making mining more and more and more difficult, could we do this now, could we offer the jobs and opportunities and make the massive contribution we do, to our region, state and country?
I want to thank you for making me continue to be proud of our company. A huge thank you to each of you for your work, dedication and loyalty over the past year, that makes it possible to be, βthe best mining company.β A company we can all be proud of.
I wish you and your families a very Happy Christmas.”
Guests enjoyed a preview of the HIO headquarters redevelopment and an impressive spread of Texas-themed food and beverages, whilst the staff choir performed their annual Christmas carols, accompanied by energetic Texan line dancers!
The annual Christmas raffles, a one-of-a-kind initiative, underscores Mrs Rinehartβs heartfelt recognition of hard work and success . Over the years, the Christmas raffle, with tax paid by the company so recipients can receive the full amount, has helped countless staff to purchase their home, pay off mortgages, cover school fees and create lasting family memories.
The night was a wonderful reminder of what makes our Hancock companies extraordinary: dedication, enthusiasm, high morale, pride, loyalty, mateship and new successes each and every year.
Mrs Rinehart and the executive team extend warm wishes to all staff and their families for a safe, joyful and very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
Hereβs to continuing our success together in 2026 and beyond! β¨π
